The NDIS has updated its participant booklets in 17 languages, including five new languages, on the NDIS website. They have also added digital braille and Auslan video translations for the first time.
The new languages are Assyrian, Dari, Khmer, Korean and Turkish. These resources were created based on participant feedback and research on current and future needs. The other languages are Arabic, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Filipino (Tagalog), French, Hindi, Greek, Italian, Macedonian, Samoan, Spanish, and Vietnamese.
The booklet updates include legislation changes, simpler and more consistent content, and information on the my NDIS app.
The booklets are a valuable resource for participants, their families and carers, and people with disability wanting to apply for the NDIS, understand how a plan is created, and use their NDIS plan.
